Hybrid and Nanocolloid Materials |
Many specialized applications demand properties not accessible via purely inorganic or purely organic coatings. Hybrid materials, often based on nanometer-sized colloidal materials in a polymer matrix, can frequently satisfy these difficult criteria. For example, YTCA has developed siloxane-based materials for optical fiber cladding, and is using these techniques to further our state-of-the-art position in solution-based optical coatings. In addition, YTCA has developed novel composite materials to meet stringent specifications for automotive opto-electronic device packaging.
